SiNode Systems was recently recognized as a successful example of the “Corporate-Startup Challenge” program conceived by the Illinois Innovation Council and managed by the Illinois Science & Technology Coalition (ISTC). The Corporate-Startup Challenge provides avenues for partnership and collaboration between promising local start-ups and Illinois corporate entities. SiNode’s strong relationship with Motorola Mobility is a direct result of the initiative and we are very thankful and excited for our continued involvement.
SiNode Systems receives $1 million of follow-on funding from U.S. Department of Energy
The SiNode team is pleased to announce the winning of a $1 million Phase II SBIR grant from the US Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy (EERE). The follow on funding will be awarded under the vehicle technologies program to develop high energy density li-ion batteries for hybrid and electric vehicle applications over a period of two years. We would like to thank the Department of Energy for their continued support and belief in our team and technology.

New Seed Investment from Energy Foundry
We are pleased to announce that Energy Foundry will be joining our seed round of funding. Energy Foundry is an impact venture capital fund, created out of the Illinois Energy Infrastructure Modernization Act. The law directed Illinois electric utilities, ComEd and Ameren, to provide $22.5M for the creation of the fund, a first-of-its kind model to stimulate Illinois’ innovation ecosystem and to support the emerging energy-technology marketplace.

Out of a record breaking 562 applicants, SiNode was selected as a top 100 finalist as well as one of ten Up & Comer winners. The Up & Comer award recognizes early stage companies that show great potential for disruptive products and services in the Chicagoland area.

SiNode Systems Rings the NASDAQ Closing Bell

After beating more than 140 teams competing at the north central region Clean Tech Open (CTO), SiNode was one of three teams to win $20,000 in cash and in-kind services as well as the opportunity to compete at the CTO’s Global Forum in San Jose.
